Dr. Kuok obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with First Class from Penang International Dental College (PIDC) in 2011. He went on to serve in the public sector for two and a half years before joining Encia Dental Specialist practising as general dentist with a special interest in Periodontology from 2014 to 2017. During this period, he obtained his Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS RCSEd) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He completed his specialist training in Periodontology (MClinDent) at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, London in 2020. He was awarded 3rd place for his research poster on the assessment of gingival thickness using a novel ultrasound dental system at the 3rd International Symposium in Florence. His areas of interest include focussing on achieving periodontal health, patient communication and periodontal surgery.
Dr. Kuok is a member of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Academy of Osseointegration (AO). As a founding member of PIDC Alumni, Dr. Kuok served as President for two years and is actively involved in organising voluntary work and teaching young dental professionals. He has obtained a UCL Medical School Training to Teach certificate as part of this pursuit and plans to continue this in the future. Away from practice, he enjoys travelling, history, food and table tennis.
