Dr. Woon Kok Chin has been an Orthodontist since 1979 after completing her orthodontic graduate training programme at the University of Washington. She obtained her Certificate of Orthodontics and Masters of Science in Dentistry in 1979 from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. She is a graduate from the National University of Singapore in 1973 with the Degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery. Dr. Woon is registered as a Specialist in Orthodontics in the National Specialist Register, Malaysia.

From 1974 to 1992, Dr. Woon was a Lecturer, then Associate Professor, in the Department of Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She then decided to venture into private practice in 1992 when she started her own orthodontic clinic limited to orthodontics. However, she still shared her expertise to teach the post – graduate orthodontic students in the Graduate Orthodontic Course at the University of Malaya as a part time lecturer until 2016.

Dr. Woon is a respected member in various professional bodies. She is the founding and first President of the Malaysian Association of Orthodontists. She is now a life member in both the Malaysian Dental Association and The Academy of Medicine, Malaysia. In addition, Dr. Woon served as an elected member of the Malaysian Dental Council for one term.
